Fish Announce '09 Schedule
PBA will face UMiami in home opener; will also host eight home games.
The 08-09 Sailfish are preparing for another run toward the SELC Championships.

WEST PALM BEACH, FL – The Palm Beach Atlantic University lacrosse program, which enters its' second year in the Southeast Lacrosse Conference, announced its 2009 schedule Wednesday.

Head coach Chris Southard, which enters his sixth year at the helm of the Sailfish this spring, will lead PBA into a 14-game schedule including five games against competitive SELC-South Region teams.

Palm Beach Atlantic will open the 2009 season with a round-robin tournament at Mercer University in Macon, GA. On Saturday, January 31st, PBA will begin against Southern Virginia University at 12:30pm. Later that afternoon, the Sailfish will battle the University of Alabama at 5:30pm. On February 1st, PBA will wrap-up the weekend against Mercer University (gametime, 12:30pm).

In potentially the biggest home lacrosse game in school history, the University of Miami will travel to West Palm Beach for the Sailfish lacrosse home opener. PBA/UM will be played "under the lights" at 8:00pm on February 5th. Read More.

Preseason Rankings Are Released; Sailfish #12 in D-II
Emory selected to repeat in DII. SCAD picked #2.

WEST PALM BEACH, FL – The Southeast Lacrosse Conference has released its' 2009 preseason rankings. These rankings are based on averages of each coaches' individual preseason poll. In Division II, PBA has been picked to finish 12th out of 18 teams.

Overall, Emory University has been chosen to repeat as SELC D-2 champions. The Savannah College of Art & Design received two first place votes and finished second in voting. Other South Region teams were picked as follows–– #7 Coastal Carolina Univ., #10 Eckerd College, #14 Georgia Southern Univ., #17 Univ. of North Florida.
