'CANES TOP SAILFISH: Miami uses second-half comeback to bury PBA, 11-7

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. –– The University of Miami Hurricanes used a strong second half performance to defeat Palm Beach Atlantic, 11-7. The Sailfish started hot, taking an early 2-0 lead before the 'Canes would answer. Though the score was 4-2 Miami after one, PBA would shutout the Hurricanes and take a 6-4 lead into the break.
In the second half, Miami outscored PBA 7-1 (including a 4-0 quarter of their own) en route to the victory.
Leading scorers for the Sailfish were senior Andrew Lockhart with two goals/three assists (Winter Park, FL/Winter Park), freshman Trey Darby with three goals/one assist (Wilmington, NC/Palm Beach Gardens-FL) and freshman Ryan Talks with two goals/two assists (Palm Beach, FL/St. Andrews).
Palm Beach Atlantic turns around immediately and will play Georgia Southern University on Sunday, February 14th at 3:00pm.
NOTES
-Game was delayed by 30 minutes due to lightning in the area.
-Due to severe weather, the game was played with twelve minute quarters.
-Palm Beach Atlantic was 23 (66%) in extra-man opportunities. University of Miami was 1/2 (50%).
-Senior attackman Andrew Lockhart currently leads all active Sailfish in points scored with ten (10). Freshman attackman Trey Darby leads the team in goals with seven (7).
-Senior face-off specialist Kevan Van Stone led all players in faceoff victories.
-University of Miami leads the all-time series, 3-0. Last season, Palm Beach Atlantic fell 16-13 in Coral Gables, FL.
